NIL SERVICES


For the Collegiate and High School Athlete

In June of 2021, the NCAA Board of Governors voted unanimously to begin the process of allowing student athletes to benefit from the use of their name, image, and likeness. This decision came as a result of the landmark Supreme Court case, NCAA v Alston, which ruled in favor of the student athlete for the first time in the history of collegiate athletics with regard to NIL.

This new landscape of college athletics has been difficult to navigate as it is unprecedented and unclear. Boundaries and parameters for NIL have not been specified by the NCAA explicitly. The NCAA’s new stance on NIL is a major step forward for student athletes, who have long been denied the opportunity to benefit from their own name, image, and likeness. While the NCAA has yet to set any specific rules or regulations regarding NIL, it is clear that the organization is committed to creating a fair system. The member organization has stated that it will consult with its member schools, the student-athletes, and other stakeholders to ensure that any changes to the policy are fair and equitable. NIL is going to be a major game-changer for collegiate athletics and will ultimately revolutionize the entire sports landscape
